MSSN Releases Annual Activities

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), ‘A’ Zone with Headquarters in Zaria, Kaduna state, has released its annual calendar of activities to cover the period of January-December, 2024.

The annual activities mainly include executive meetings, public lectures, educational programmes for students, seminars and workshops for capacity buiding, as well as conferences and retreats to brainstorm on topical issues and chart new courses and plans of action. The ‘A’ Zone comprises of states in the North and Abuja, and activities are to be hosted in selected venues spread across the states under the zone.

It could be recalled that recently the Bauchi Area Unit of the MSSN has elected its new Executive Officers to run the affairs of the council for a term as stipulates by the Constitution of the Organization, and were immediately sworn-in at a ceremony held at the Conference Hall, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBUTH), Bauchi.

 Dr. Hamid Adamu Muhammad was elected as the new Ameer to succeed Dr. Rabi’u Barau Bal as the Head of MSSN State Executive Council (SEC). Dr. Hamid, who until his appointment, was the QEC COORDINATOR MSSN Bauchi Area Unit. He emerged elected following the meetings held by the State Shurah Committee.

The MSSN has, since its inception in 1954, been dedicated to representing the interests of Muslim Students at all levels of education. It organizes programs and projects for the uplift of its members.

According to the Shurah Committee Reports made available to Radio LYB, the meeting elected other officers in their respective offices. This include Mal. Sulaiman Umar as the Deputy Ameer, and Mal. Sani Mu’azu Tama as the State Secretary General.

While inaugurating the new executives members, the Chairman of the occasion who is also the Former Grant Kadi of Bauchi State, Alh. Abdullahi Yakubu Marafa (Marafan Bauchi) admonished them to fear Allah so as not lose focus in the course of discharging their duty.

Presenting a lecture at the event on the topic “MSSN and the Challenges of Self-reliance, the Guest Speaker Mal, Hussaini Abubakar Othman Dan Jikan Bauchi who is also the District Head of Mirri, urged the Muslim Ummah to rise to the challenges of their time. Stressing that financial independence of MSSN should be the top priority of the new administration.”
